CHAMPAGNE granted as a Geographical Indication
The Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office has granted to CIVC - COMITE INTERPROFESSIONEL DU VIN DE CHAMPAGNE, the registration of the geographical indication of CHAMPAGNE. Therefore, the name may only be used to identify wines from the famous French region. This registration brings an end to an old trade issue between Brasil and France.
