The president of the Brazilian PTO (BPTO) and the president of the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C. (SIPO) signed on November 13, 2017 an agreement to develop a BPTO-SIPO PPH Pilot Project, which is expected to be in force in February 2018.
While the SIPO should accept applications referring to any technological field, in order to request priority examination at the BPTO using the BPTO-SIPO PPH Pilot Project, the applications must refer to Information Technology, packages, measurement and chemistry. The BPTO will analyze up to 200 requests at this pilot-project phase.
